Name
Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine
Description
Located less than a two-hour drive from Madrid, right at the heart of the Duero Valley— one of Spain’s most important winery regions — this restored abbey sits majestically within 500 acres of vineyards. The heart of the estate is its award-winning winery, while its soul is its striking 12th-century Romanesque abbey, a Spanish cultural heritage site. The intimate resort, with just 30 guestrooms, offers full butler service, and Refectorio, the ancient abbey’s original dining hall, now proudly holds a Michelin Star. In addition, Refectorio earned its first Michelin Green Star in 2010, a seal of approval granted to those restaurants that are truly committed to sustainability and environmentally responsible practices. This endorsement is further complemented by our recent Green Globe accreditation, a worldwide programme that endorses eco-friendly resorts. The culinary experience on offer at Abadía Retuerta encompasses several distinct restaurants that reflect the surrounding lands in different ways, each with a keen focus on locally-sourced produce. The chefs also rely on the Monks’ Vegetable Garden, which was restored in 2019: it is located exactly where the abbey’s ancient allotment was, as cultivated by the monks many centuries ago. Elsewhere on the estate, guests can unwind at Santuario Wellness & Spa, where Spain’s first spa sommelier is on hand. Furthermore, an array of curated experiences around wine, gastronomy, nature, art and wellness immerse guests in all the spirit and style of LeDomaine. Here, history can be found on every corner, and unique memories are made every single day.
